Video shows man knocking out 76-year-old woman in Daytona Beach

Police offer $5,000 for info leading to arrest of man


DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach police are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man caught on video knocking out a 76-year-old woman with one punch for no apparent reason.

The unprovoked attack happened about 11:45 a.m. Wednesday on a sidewalk in the 200 block of South Ridgewood Avenue in Daytona Beach.

According to Daytona Beach police, the woman was walking on the sidewalk when the man approached her and said, "Where's the f****** police?  Where's the f****** police?"

The woman said she was confused and didn't answer the man, who punched her in the face with a closed fist, knocking her to the ground, police said.

The woman suffered a possible broken nose, bruised eye and possible brain swelling, police said.  She was taken to Halifax Hospital for treatment.

Video, captured from a nearby home or business, shows the man slowly walking away after the attack.

The man was described as 30 to 35 years old with blond hair.  He was wearing a black, white and red shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about the man is urged to call Daytona Beach police.
