APOPKA, Fla. – One person was killed and another was seriously injured when a sport utility vehicle carrying eight people  overturned in Apopka, officials said.

The crash happened overnight near the intersection of State Road 451 and Johns Road.

Officials said a tire on the SUV exploded, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which flipped.

The other six passengers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

The crash remains under investigation.
