Orlando Mayor attends meetings in Germany

Mayor Buddy Dyer meeting with Lufthansa Airlines officials

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will be spending part of the week in Germany, meeting with representatives from Europe's largest airline.

This week, the mayor and members from the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority will meet with officials from Lufthansa Airlines, in Frankfurt, Germany.

The meetings are part of a plan to attract more international business to Orlando.

Lufthansa Airlines has been offering nonstop service between Orlando and Frankfurt for the past eight years.

On Wednesday, Dyer will travel to Italy for the 9th World Chambers Congress.

There, along with members of Orlando, Inc., the mayor will submit a bid to host the 2019  World Chambers of Congress, in central Florida.

City officials say winning the bid will help further Orlando's push to attract more business to the area.
