ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Officials are investigating after a 68-year-old woman was killed Sunday in a crash on State Road 528 at mile marker 34.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Donna Mathisen was driving a 2008 Chrysler van west on SR528 when she pulled onto the shoulder of the road.

Witnesses told FHP Mathisen attempted to make an illegal U-turn through the grass median when a 2009 Ford sports utility vehicle, driven by Gary Richardson, 21, of Maryland, crashed into the left side of Mathisen's vehicle.
Mathisen was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. A passenger in her vehicle, Maegan McIntyre, 32, suffered serious injuries.
Richardson and three passengers in his vehicle suffered minor injuries.
All lanes of SR528 were shut down for a few hours.
The crash remains under investigation.
