MELBOURNE, Fla. – A Melbourne man got an early birthday present in the form of a winning $1 million scratch-off ticket, according to the Florida Lottery.
Local 6 news partner Florida Today reports Richard Nicolosi claimed a $1 million prize in the 50X The Cash Scratch-Off game at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee after he purchased the ticket the day before his 56th birthday.

He was on his way to Disney World when he purchased the ticket from the 7-Eleven at 3100 North Wickham Road in Melbourne.
Nicolosi chose to accept his earnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $728,487.
The 7-Eleven he purchased the scratch-off ticket from will receive a bonus of $2,000.
