Teen arrested in January shooting at Ocala high school, police say

OCALA, Fla. – Police have arrested a juvenile in connection with a shooting that happened in January in a high school parking lot after a basketball game.

Police said the shooting occurred at Vanguard High School on Northwest 28th Street during an altercation.

Police said Jaquaries Jones has been arrested and accused of the shooting that left a 14-year-old girl with a gunshot wound in the arm and a 19-year-old cut by glass after her car window was struck by a bullet.

Four people were in the car at the time of the shooting. At that time, police believed one of the people in the car to be the shooter, or to have known who the shooter was.

No other details of the arrest were immediately released by police.
