Sex offender re-arrested for going to Sun Splash Park, Daytona Beach police say

Cops: Man violated probation


DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach police arrested a man who they say is a sex offender who they say violated probation by going to Sun Splash Park on Saturday morning.

Oscar Castro, 38, was charged with violating his probation by having direct contact with children at the park, which is popular for families, according to the report.

Police said Castro also violated probation by having two smartphones. Castro told officers he found the $500 phone walking home one evening and kept it, according to police.

Castro was booked into Volusia County Jail on no bond.
