Indialantic mayor puts off '48 Hours' discussion
Topic is shelved, but could be on next months agenda
INDIALANTIC, Fla. – Town manager Chris Chinault is still employed.
Mayor Dave Berkman decided to table his discussion and "possible action" item from Wednesday night's agenda until next month's meeting.
Berkman has been critical of the town manager and wanted the Indialantic Town Council to discuss whether to terminate Chinault's employment contract and possibly name a successor. Recently, Berkman accused Chinault of ignoring the intent of council members by supporting CBS News personnel while they filmed the May 2 "48 Hours" episode featuring the Sheila Graham-Trott murder case.
When asked by a member of the public what happened to the agenda item, Berkman simply said "I just chose to table the item to next month."
Town attorney Paul Gougelman said Berkman removed it from the agenda, but could choose to include it on next month's agenda.
