Victims help Palm Bay police catch suspected vehicle burglars
PALM BAY, Fla. – Two victims helped stop an overnight vehicle burglary spree that ended with three arrests, according to Palm Bay police.
Michael Dudley-Palmer, Richard Karsk and a 17-year-old girl were arrested in the burglary spree in Palm Bay and are facing several charges, including loitering and prowling and armed burglary.
Police said they were called at 1 a.m. Thursday to the 3200 Galleon Avenue after a woman reported an attempted vehicle robbery and while they were on scene, a resident reported another vehicle burglary.
According to the report, the resident confronted three men with backpacks and heard a gunshot, but wasn't sure if the round was being fired at him.
Police were then led to a home of a man who had his gun stolen from his vehicle after they found the man's wallet inside of a backpack.
A Brevard County Sheriff's Office helicopter saw the trio on the south side of the canal throwing a backpack, which they later found had a BB gun and drugs, into the wooded area.
Authorities found the trio and arrested them.
The investigation is ongoing.
