Orlando police investigate after shots fired at officers

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando police are investigating after they say officers had gunshots fired at them early Thursday morning.

An officer was issuing a traffic citation on South Kirkman Road when a passing car or cars opened fire, according to police.

Joseph Vladimy, who was pulled over by police at 1 a.m., said he had given one officer his driver's license and registration and had been waiting for his ticket when he suddenly heard shots.

"They shot maybe 3 times, but I don't know why, and didn't see anything," he said.

Police said three or four cars were passing by at the time of the shooting, but he wasn't sure where the shots may have come from.

No injuries were reported.

Police haven't released any information on possible suspects.
