Baton-wielding robber holds up Kangaroo Express, deputies say

Clerk unharmed during robbery

PALM COAST, Fla. – The Kangaroo Express convenience store on Kingswood Drive in Palm Coast was robbed by a man wearing a bandanna over his face early Sunday.

The clerk told deputies the man was carrying what appeared to be a baton or night stick when he entered the store at about 2:40 a.m.

He told the clerk not to activate the alarm and removed $56 from the cash register. 

As he fled, the thief ordered the clerk to lie on the floor.

Deputies said the clerk was unharmed.

The robber is described as white man with a southern accent, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall. At the time of the holdup he was believed to be wearing a camouflage Florida Gators baseball cap, blue short-sleeve hospital scrubs and dark-colored shoes.
