Male bottlenose dolphin born at SeaWorld in 2007

ORLANDO, Fla. – A male bottlenose dolphin has died at SeaWorld Orlando, officials said on Tuesday.

The dolphin, named Lagos, showed a reluctance to eat the day before he died, but did not have any signs of illness or injury, according to officials.

Park officials said the preliminary cause of death is pneumonia, but a necropsy will determine the exact cause.

"The team that cared for Lagos mourns this loss, and we appreciate your support during this difficult time," SeaWorld said in an email to Local 6.

Lagos was born at SeaWorld in 2007.
