DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, Fla. – A 10-year-old boy was bitten by a shark Wednesday off Daytona Beach Shores, officials said.

Volusia County Beach Safety Ocean Rescue said the boy, who was visiting from Georgia, was bitten by a shark on his calf near the 2300 block of the beach.
The boy was treated at the scene and did not go to a hospital, officials said.
The report is the latest in a string of shark bites reported at Brevard and Volusia county beaches.
No other details were immediately available.
