Osceola County deputies search for man in suspicious incident

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – Osceola County deputies are searching for a man they say was involved in a suspicious incident on Wednesday.

Deputies said a 14-year-old girl left her motel room after arguing with her father and was walking on eastbound West Irlo Memorial Highway when a man driving a vehicle called her by name and asked if she needed a ride.

The girl declined and kept walking, but the man followed her and asked again more adamantly, according to deputies.

Deputies said the man then began to get out of the vehicle but the girl ran back to the motel and reported the incident to her parents, who called law enforcement.

Deputies described the man as a black male in his late 30s, 5 feet 10 inches with a muscular build, short Afro-style hair and a beard. The man was wearing a black T-shirt and was driving an older model 4-door sedan, possibly gray or silver.

No criminal charges have been filed, but detectives said they want to speak with the man to clarify his intentions.
