LARGO, Fla. – An 81-year-old Florida man taking a walk in his neighborhood was struck by lightning and killed Friday afternoon, according to authorities.
The man was walking on Egret Drive near Sandpiper Road in Largo when he was struck.

The man was found by his wife and neighbors after they heard a loud crack of lightning, officials said. The man died instantly, authorities said.
