Airman's car vandalized in Oviedo driveway

American flag cut from tire cover, police say

OVIEDO, Fla. – The father of a U.S. airman serving overseas is outraged that vandals targeted his son's car -- apparently because of the American flag -- as it sat in his Oviedo driveway.

Brian Domian said the vandals hit all three cars in front of his home in the Estates of Aloma Woods sometime early Wednesday morning. He said they caused thousands of dollars in damage.

"You feel very violated," Domian told Local 6 News.

All three cars were coated in instant potato flakes and some kind of liquid and eggs to make it harden.

Domian said he thought it would be a quick wash job with the hose until he noticed that all the vehicles had designs etched in the paint. He said five tires were also punctured.

"The one car they focused on was mine," he said. "Probably because of the flag, and it really bothered me a lot."

He said the American flag had been cut out of his Jeep's tire cover, which was a Christmas gift from his son. The flag was gone.

"That really bothered me, especially since he's deployed fighting for our liberties," Domian said.

He said his son, Sgt. Benjamin Domian, is deployed in Africa.

Seminole County sheriff's deputies told Local 6 that some of the neighbors had surveillance cameras, but none was pointed at Domian's driveway.

Domian said he's considering buying his own cameras to make sure a similar incident doesn't happen again.
