3 people also hurt in crash on International Speedway Boulevard

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A woman is dead and three others were hurt in a crash involving two vehicles, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday at International Speedway Boulevard and Fire Tower Road in Volusia County.

Troopers said Claudio Coppola, 54, was attempting to turn his truck west onto International Speedway Boulevard from the center median break.

Karen Lucas, 75, was traveling west with two passengers in a Chevrolet pickup on International Speedway Boulevard in the right through lane, troopers said.

Coppola pulled out into the direct path of Lucas' pickup and the right front of Coppola's truck struck the left front of the pickup, according to FHP.
