Police chase ends in crash near Orlando church

ORLANDO, Fla. – A police chase ended in a crash in Orlando, forcing officials to close a major intersection for several hours overnight.

The crash happened at the intersection of John Young Parkway and Old Winter Garden Road.

According to Orlando police, officers were searching for suspects in an armed robbery on South Orange Blossom Trail and attempted to pull over a car near LB McLeod and Burton Boulevard.

The driver refused to stop and a police pursuit began, authorities said.

The chase went through southwest Orlando and ended with the suspects' car crashing into a fence in front of the International Harvest House of God.

Two people were taken into police custody and were interviewed by investigators.  Their names have not been released.

The intersection was closed while the crash was investigated.  It later reopened.
