Man lured women, forced them to perform sex acts, Florida police say

James Rolle arrested in Eustis on sex charges

EUSTIS, Fla. – A 24-year-old man was arrested Sunday in Lake County on allegations of using the Internet to lure women and force them to perform sex acts.

James Ramon Rolle was arrested on two counts of sexual battery with a firearm, two counts of armed robbery with a firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts of depriving use of 911.

Eustis police detectives are investigating four cases involving separate victims.  The two incidents in which Rolle is charged occurred on June 20 and June 23.

Eustis police say Rolle committed a number of offenses over a span of at least two months reaching back to at least April. Police say Rolle contacted women through a classifieds website, Backpage.com, in search of an escort.

However, police say when they arrived, he would rob them at gun point at force them to perform sexual acts. On one occasion, an escort told police that Rolle took her behind a house and brandished a revolver. He forced her to her knees and demanded sexual favors. While Rolle was going through her purse, she took the opportunity to grab his gun and run to safety.

But the victim never reached out to police; in fact, it was law enforcement that reached out to her after finding her purse. "We called her and she knew immediately what we were calling about," said Detective Jim Franquiz with Eustis Police.

Franquiz believes the victim was hesitant to call authorities because she was acting as an escort. Police say she did eventually look at a lineup and immediately pointed out Rolle as her attacker.

Two victims have already been identified, and authorities say they are investigating two additional potential victims. They also ask anyone else who may have been victimized but are too afraid to speak up, to please reach out to them for help.

Rolle was arrested and taken to jail.  He is being held on $340,000 bond.
