Investigation into drug overdoses leads to arrest

Further charges pending investigation

COCOA, Fla. – A man was arrested after the execution of a search warrant at his residence in Cocoa in connection to a continuing investigation into the recent drug overdose cases according to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.

Oliver Jenkins Jr., 32, of Cocoa, was charged with possession of cannabis at the scene.

He was additionally charged with possession of cocaine and introduction of contraband into a correctional facility when it was discovered that Jenkins had cocaine concealed on his person during the booking process at the jail.

He is being held on $4,500 bond. 

Additional charges are expected once the evidence collected during the investigation is analyzed.
