Man arrested after shots fired during Ocala Confederate flag rally

Man charged with possession of firearm

OCALA, Fla. – Police have arrested the man who they say fired shots in a housing complex during a rally in Ocala in support of flying the Confederate flag.

Sebastian Boswell has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in the incident during the Ocala Southern Pride Ride on Sunday.

The event was organized to show support for Marion County's decision to return the Confederate flag to a display in front of its government complex.

The ride was rerouted away from the city's Northwoods neighborhood after some residents threatened to shoot into the procession.

Shots were fired during an argument over the flag, but no one was injured.
