River otters released back into wild

MELBOURNE, Fla. – After months of rehabilitation, river otters are back in the wild-- thanks to volunteers from Florida Wildlife Hospital.

The otters were released into a canal near Lake Washington in Melbourne on Monday morning.

Video from Local 6 news partner Florida Today shows the river otters sticking together for their big return to the wild.

The otters, which are about 8 months old,  have spent a good half of their lives recovering at the hospital.
