ORLANDO, Fla. – A Florida Department of Law Enforcement agent opened fire at his Orlando home early Tuesday morning when he tried to apprehend two suspected burglars.

According to the FDLE, the agent discovered two men breaking into a vehicle parked in his driveway.  During his attempt to take them into custody, the agent fired three rounds from his department-issued firearm, officials said.

The agent took one of the men into custody, but the other ran away, investigators said.  No one was injured.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office was called to the home and Darius Walker, 21, of Orlando, was arrested on one count of burglary of a conveyance.

The second suspect man remains at large.

The FDLE will investigate the shooting, and the agent who opened fire has been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure in shootings.
