Man sought in girlfriend's slaying

Deputies shoot tear gas into Mims home but find no one inside

MIMS, Fla. – Authorities in Brevard continue to search for a man wanted on murder charges who deputies say should be considered armed and dangerous.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Quentin Woodruff, who's a suspect in the death of his girlfriend, Brandee Kelley, 24, who was shot and killed last month in Titusville.

Deputies and a SWAT team were at a home near Marigold Avenue and Wiley Avenue just after 6 p.m. Tuesday looking for Woodruff.  Several streets were blocked off, and tear gas was shot into the home, but nobody was found inside.

Deputies have been watching the home for the past three nights in their search for Woodruff.

Earlier this month, Kelley's friend told Local 6 News that Kelley was trying to escape Woodruff, who the friend said had become abusive.

Woodruff's father, Sam Woodruff, told Local 6 that he does not believe the allegations and said his son has not been at their home anytime recently.

"I don't believe it. My baby (didn't do) that," Sam Woodruff said. "If you knew him, you'd feel the same way I do."
