Ormond Beach restaurant uses social media to search for burglars

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – A restaurant has taken to Facebook hoping to catch a couple of crooks who broke into their restaurant Saturday night. The restaurant owner said they've been hit three times in the past 22 years, this last time costing them the most amount of money.

Local 6 received newly released pictures of the night Ormond Beach Police say two men broke into Delcato's Italian Restaurant. The pictures show shattered glass from the front door and aprons strewn about as police said the duo damaged their way through the place looking for cash. Another pictured showed what's left of a wooden door that leads to the manager's office, the room where police said the men found the safe.

Surveillance video showed the two, dressed in hoodies, walking through the kitchen a couple of times before taking off with the safe in their hands. Investigators said the men got away with $1,300.

The restaurant has since replaced the front door but said the burglars not only hurt their small business by stealing from them, but it's costing them even more money, to fix the damage they've left behind.

The restaurant said their video on Facebook has been shared over 400 times and reached over 34,000 people but police said there are still no leads in the case.
