Officials with the team held a news conference Friday to announce changes to the new venue.
A new rendering sent to season ticket holders Thursday night shows that plans now call for the stadium to hold up to 28,000 fans. Previous plans showed the stadium only holding up to 19,000 fans.
Currently, Orlando City draws an average of more than 33,000 fans per home game at the Citrus Bowl.
The new stadium is expected to open summer 2016.
