3 hurt when vehicle in shooting incident crashes, Titusville police say

Cops: Detectives search for other vehicle with shooters inside

TITUSVILLE, Fla. – A man and two children were hurt when a stolen vehicle that was involved in a shooting incident with another vehicle crashed into a tree, Titusville police said.

It happened after 2 p.m. Saturday on Day Street in Titusville.

Officers found a vehicle that had crashed into a tree with two people suffering from gunshot wounds inside. Police said a third person inside the vehicle, a child, suffered minor injuries, but had not been shot.

A black Toyota Highlander that was stolen out of Cocoa Beach was involved in a dispute with passengers in another vehicle, described as a dark-colored sedan, Titusville police said.

Witnesses described people in the two vehicles as shooting at each other as the vehicles drove down Day Street, according to police.

Police said the Toyota crashed into a tree and the sedan fled the scene.

A man and a boy were taken to local hospitals with gunshot wounds. Police said the other child was taken into custody for questioning.
