A church leader was arrested on child pornography charges after a priest tipped Volusia County deputies off.
Brandon Furhmann, 20, who works for Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Sanford has been charged with 10 counts of child pornography. A tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children prompted an investigation in June.
Deputies said a priest came forward in June and told authorities about information involving Furhmann and a 14-year-old girl.
Investigators later served a search warrant at Furhmann's home and confiscated laptops, cellphones and thumb drives.
A church administrator told Local 6 that Furhmann was in charge of teaching elementary and middle school students how to worship.
Furhmann received $20,000 bond on each count in court Thursday afternoon. A judge also ordered him to wear a GPS tracker, not have any contact with minors and no electronic devices.
Local 6 asked Holy Cross Episcopal Church about the accusations involving Furhmann, but were given no comment.
