Woman attacks man, steals wallet at Ormond Beach gas station, cops say

Police: Elderly man's credit card used in Holly Hill to purchase gas


ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – A woman who stole an older man's wallet after attacking him in a gas station parking lot is being sought by Ormond Beach police.

It happened at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday at Texaco at 5 South Yonge St.

Police said the woman entered the gas station and asked the clerk for gas, saying she had no money to pay for it.

When the clerk refused, the woman followed an older man out of the store and physically attacked him in the parking lot, according to Ormond Beach police.

The woman struck the man, pushed him to the ground and stole his wallet, police said. The woman left the scene in a dark-colored passenger car.

Police said the man's credit card was used a short time later to purchase gas in Holly Hill.

Ormond Beach police described the woman as 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing around 190 pounds.
