Child found in lake hospitalized, Sanford police say

Sanford police work to determine how child, parents became separated

SANFORD, Fla. – A child has been taken to a hospital after being found in a lake, Sanford police said.

It happened around 7 p.m. Saturday near the Charleston Club Apartments in the 9000 block of Fox Quarry Lane.

Police said the unresponsive child was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital and was then airlifted to Winnie Palmer Hospital.

Sanford police are working to determine how the child became separated from his or her parents.

The child's condition and age were not given.
