MIMS, Fla. – A big detour in Brevard County could eventually lead to a smoother ride on Interstate 95.

Starting Tuesday night and for the next three nights, crews are going to shut down the State Road 46 overpass over I-95 in the Mims area. The move comes so contractors can can do work to widen I-95.
The detour means drivers will have to take Dairy Road, cross over the highway and then head back north.
The work will take place each day from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
