The fire happened around 2:45 p.m. Saturday in the 9200 block of Southeast 142nd Place in Summerfield.

Deputies said Robert Lee Wallace was found dead inside of the mobile home as the fire was being put out by firefighters with Marion County Fire Rescue.

Family members told detectives that Wallace was staying at the home with his family while visiting from South Carolina.

Wallace was the only victim of the fire, deputies said. All other occupants of the mobile home were not inside at the time.

The home appears to have received catastrophic damage due to the magnitude of the fire, deputies said. Workers with the Red Cross were at the scene and providing aid to the family.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the state fire marshal.
