People involved in Jacksonville murder may be in Orlando, officials say

ORLANDO, Fla. – Officials believe three people linked to a Jacksonville murder may be in the Orlando area.

An altercation Saturday afternoon at a Candlewood Suites led to a shooting that led to a man's death, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Sgt. Jay Farhat said a black man in his 40s was shot just after 4 p.m. at the hotel on Jane Street.

The man was taken to to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Police said there was a confrontation between another man and a woman. The two left in a small, silver four-door sedan driven by a third person, Farhat said.

JSO said the identity of the dead man was not immediately known. Police are looking over surveillance video and talking to witnesses to try to identify the gunman.

Police wouldn't say where in the hotel the shooting occurred, but said it didn't happen in the lobby.
