Teenager opens front door to find man shot, bleeding in Orange County

Deputies investigate shooting as homicide

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A local teen told News 6 he opened his front door to find a man shot and bleeding Tuesday.

Orange County deputies said the man collapsed at the home on Rose Boulevard Tuesday at about 5 p.m. and was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office is now investigating the shooting as a homicide.

The teen, who did not want to be identified, told News 6 that he heard the gunshots, then heard banging on his front door and saw the victim collapse right outside.

"I heard two gunshots and I looked outside the window and I saw him coming around here," said the teen. "He was screaming in Spanish, 'Help me! Help me!' But I was too afraid to go outside and check, because I didn't know if the gunner was still outside."

Deputies in cruisers searched block after block around the shooting scene. Investigators used flashlights and looked for every bit of evidence in a crime that seems to have few answers.

Veronica Levine lives down the street and said nobody knows the victim.

Neighbors said they believe the shooting happened somewhere else and that the victim ran down the street to where he was found.

Deputies have not released any details about the shooter.

Anyone with any information on the shooting is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-8477.
