Six children were injured Thursday morning in a bus crash in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Authorities said a car rear-ended a bus from Orlando West Academy, a private Christian school in Orlando, just before 8 a.m. on Clarcona Ocoee Road near Pine Hills Road.

Troopers said the bus was stopped at a red light when a car driven by Angela Randle, 50, of Orlando, struck it.  Randle was ticketed for careless driving, the FHP said.

The bus, driven by a 50-year-old Orlando man who was not injured in the crash, was carrying 11 students, the FHP said.

Officials initially reported that five children were hurt in the crash.
