LEESBURG, Fla. – A 23-year-old man was found shot Monday morning in a wooded area in Leesburg, according to police.
Leesburg police went to the area near Mispah Avenue and Nebraska Street in the Carver Heights neighborhood around 2:40 a.m. in reference to a shooting.

The man was found shot in a wooded area just south of the intersection, Leesburg police said. He had at least one gunshot wound and was airlifted to Ocala Regional Medical Center. His condition is not known.
Officers searched the area with K-9 units and a helicopter, but no one was found.
