Woman shot, killed at Orlando home identified

Deputies investigate 28-year-old woman's death

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County sheriff's investigators identified a woman killed in an overnight shooting Tuesday as 28-year-old Casey Leah King.

The shooting was reported around 12:25 a.m. at a home in the 700 block of 23rd Street near Interstate 4 and Kaley Avenue in Orlando.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to a home and found King suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Paramedics tried to revive King, who was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and was pronounced dead.

Detectives were spotted talking to a possible witness and looking at an SUV that appeared to have been damaged from gunfire.  About 20 evidence markers were placed in the street outside the home.

"The circumstances surrounding the incident are being actively investigated," the Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
