Florida woman, 91, beaten, shot in home invasion

OCALA, Fla. – Ocala police have arrested a high school student  in a home invasion where a 91-year-old woman was beaten and shot in the head, neck and face.

Jaquan Davis, 16, a Lake Weir High School student, was charged with home invasion robbery and attempted felony murder in the June incident.

Davis and his mother came to the Ocala Police Department on Wednesday voluntarily for an interview after a Crime Stoppers anonymous tip that Davis was involved in the burglary and was present inside of the victim's home when she was shot, according to the report.

Police said Davis told them he was with an accomplice when they went into the victim's home through a window, confronted the victim in her bedroom and demanded money from her. Davis said his accomplice shot the victim.

He was arrested and booked into Marion County Jail.
