Orlando police officer hears gunshots, finds body

Homicide investigated on West South Street

ORLANDO, Fla. – An Orlando police officer conducting a traffic stop discovered a man's body after hearing gunshots nearby, according to authorities.

The officer was conducting the stop around 12:45 a.m. Friday in the 900 block of West South Street when several gunshots were heard, Orlando police said.

The officer went to the 1100 block of West South Street and discovered a bicycle on the ground, according to police.  The officer then found a dead man about 50 yards away, according to police.

The man was later identified by police as Dierre T. Bradford, 34.  Police said Bradford appears to have died from gunshot wounds.

Police said a homicide investigation is ongoing, and no witnesses have come forward.
