MELBOURNE, Fla. – A Melbourne man was charged Saturday morning with aggravated assault with a firearm after he held a gun to the face of two neighbors.

The Melbourne Police Department said Raul Martinez-Sanchez, 65, was visiting his neighbors next door to his home.  At around 12:36 a.m. Saturday, he was asked to leave when an argument started.

Martinez-Sanchez produced a silver revolver handgun and pointed it in the face of the two residents that lived at the home threatening them, police said.

When officers arrived Martinez-Sanchez ran into his home next door, he was taken into custody after trying to flee through a hole in the fence on his back yard, officers said.

A loaded .38 caliber silver revolver was found in his backyard and identified by the victims.

Police discovered that Martinez-Sanchez had an active warrant for failing to serve farm time. He was also charged with use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
