FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Flagler County deputies are searching for the culprit who illegally dumped more than 80 tons of tires in a wooded area.

Deputies said sometime between Aug. 30 and Aug. 31, 18.5 tons of tires were dumped in the 800 block of North Old Kings Road between the Matanzas Woods Parkway and the Princess Place Preserve.

According to a release, it is believed the culprit used a large trailer to unload the tires one at a time. Flagler County cleaned up the tires and hauled them to a landfill in Volusia County, which is estimated to have cost more than $4,600.
