If mildew and algae are covering your wooden fence, use these tips to clean your fence by hand.
1. If you have any plants near the fence, make sure you cover them to protect them against the cleaning supplies.

2. Create a cleaning solution. One option is to mix one part bleach with two parts water. Add about a teaspoon of soap for each gallon of water used.
3. Using a scrub brush, wash the stained areas of the fence. When you're done, rinse off the fence with clean water.
