Deputies search for gunman in robbery

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Flagler County deputies are searching for the gunman who they say robbed a Palm Coast Staples store.

The robbery was reported at the store, located at 9 Old Kings Road, on Sept. 12.

According to investigators, the gunman approached a manager from behind in the cash room after closing time and pointed a small semi-automatic handgun at him.

The suspect directed the manager to empty the safe into a black backpack, and then ordered the manager to lie on the floor with his hands on his head and count to 100, deputies said.

According to deputies, the suspect took the manager's cellphone and left the room, leaving the phone on a desk outside the cash room. Officials believe the suspect may have hidden in the stock room until closing.

The suspect was described by deputies as a black male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a stocky build, wearing a grey Florida State Seminoles hoodie and carrying a black backpack.
