Florida deputies install crime-prevention kiosks in Walmart stores

Machines placed in 6 county stores

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – The Marion County Sheriff's Office is taking its fight against crime, straight to shoppers at Walmart.

The agency installed 12 crime prevention kiosks at six Walmart stores in the county.

The machines show digital images of people wanted for various crimes in the area, including thefts from Walmart.

The Sheriff's Office said the goal is to reduce the number of retail thefts.

According to deputies, the kiosks have lead to the arrest of 150 wanted suspects since 2014.
