Tropical Storm Ida spins in the Atlantic

Storm currently poses no threat to land


Tropical Storm Ida, which formed last Friday, continues to spin more than 1000 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands.

Ida is meandering slowly over the open central Atlantic Ocean and should begin turning back toward the north later in the week, according to Weather.com.

The storm is not likely to strengthen much over the next few days and currently poses no current major threats to land.
