CASSELBERRY, Fla. – A 22-year-old man was struck and killed early Friday by an unmarked Casselberry police car, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said Jeremy Galvez, of Altamonte Springs, died in the crash, which occurred around 12:30 a.m. at State Road 436 and Fern Park Boulevard.

According to the FHP, Galvez was not in a crosswalk and ran across S.R. 436 into the path of the car, driven by a 23-year-old Casselberry man.

Galvez was thrown onto the shoulder of the roadway, troopers said.  He was taken to Florida Hospital Altamonte, where he was later pronounced dead, the FHP said.
