Officials: Boy suffers significant injuries after being bit in head

COCOA, Fla. – A 6-year-old boy has been hospitalized after being attacked by a dog, Brevard County Fire Rescue said.

The incident happened Sunday in the 3800 block of Kennedy Circle in Cocoa.

Family members told News 6 that the attack happened while boy was jumping on a trampoline at a neighbor's house. The dog belongs to the neighbor.

Fire Rescue officials said the boy suffered significant injuries after being bit in the head.

The boy was airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital as a trauma alert patient, officials said.

Animal services were en route to the scene. Information about the dog was not given.
