Police said Shaddix pursued what he said was a suspicious vehicle parked behind their building with lights and sirens because he says he saw the vehicle hit a fellow security guard.

The other guard told police the incident never happened, according to the report.

Shaddix then crashed his car while speeding north on Universal Boulevard, authorities said.

Shaddix, who has been to prison several times for driving with a revoked license, was arrested and also charged with reckless driving.
