The Florida Highway Patrol said James Oberfeldt, 51, of Land O' Lakes, died in the single-vehicle wreck, which occurred around 12:20 a.m.

The ramp from southbound I-95 to westbound I-4 remains partially closed as crews continue to clean up a diesel spill.

Troopers said Oberfeldt likely fell asleep at the wheel as he took the exit to I-4.  The 53-foot trailer, which was carrying pasta, crashed through a guardrail and overturned into a ditch.

Oberfeldt was taken to Halifax Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, the FHP said.

An investigation is ongoing.
