Cops: Man leads police on chase after trying to pass bad check at bank

Jamarel D. White faces multiple charges

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. – Police said a man was arrested Tuesday after he tried to pass off a bad check with a fake ID at a Chase Bank in Rockledge.

The bank contacted police, who later tried to stop the man identified as Jamarel D. White, 41, of Miami.

Police said White tried to ram one of the cop cars. He then led Brevard County Sheriff's Office deputies and Florida Highway Patrol troopers on a pursuit on Interstate 95.

When White tried to exit the interstate on State Road 524, he hit a pickup truck, police said.

White is now facing multiple charges.

No injuries were reported.
